How to Activate Helix Native
To get your Output plugin up and running in Ableton you need to check Ableton's AU/VST settings. Navigate to: Ableton. File and Folder. Make sure 'Use AudioUnits/VST' are all checked and hit Rescan. Windows users will only have the option 'VST Plugin Custom Folder', manually navigate to the location you installed your Output Plugin. Resetting Live does the following: If you have a template set, it is deleted. Live's preferences are deleted; audio and MIDI hardware needs to be selected again, input/output names added again, plug-in folders need to be re-enabled (VSTs need to be rescanned), any custom preferences need to be set again. The Undo history is deleted.
- Download the latest version of Helix Native at http://line6.com/software/.
- Run the Helix Native installer. We suggest you temporarily disable all third party antivirus programs during the installation. During the install, take note of the VST3 and AAX Plugin folder locations. If you choose to install the PC VST2 plugin, you will be able to choose your own folder location. On Mac, VST2 is installed at /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/.
- PCVST2 only: Open your recording program's preferences and point it to the folder that Helix Native was installed to.
- Start your DAW, create an audio track, then add Helix Native as a plugin (see below for links to your particular DAW).
- On first run, you will be prompted to sign in to your Line 6 account to authorize your license.

Q: I can't find the Helix plug-in, even after following the steps in the articles above.
A. Possible causes:
- The default VST3 folder on Windows is C:Program FilesCommon FilesVST3. Ensure your DAW has scanned that directory.
- Helix Native is a VST Effect. When searching your DAW's plug-ins list, make sure to look under VST Effects and not VST Instruments.
- Helix Native is 64-bit only, and therefore won't appear in a 32-bit DAW.

I had to re-install Ableton and now when I open an old project it doesn't find some of the plugins I used because for some reason Ableton is loading the plugins inside the audio unit folder instead of the VST folder.I obviously tried to turn off the scan of audio units, it still doesn't find the plugins.
Is there a way to force Ableton to load plugins from either VST or VST2?
I don't know if it could be because I was using High Sierra and right now I'm using Sierra.
